Inverse Circular Function

  Trigonometric function and inverse circular function

The functions f = {(x, y): y = sin x}, g = {(x, y): y = cos x} and h = {(x, y) : y = tan x} are circular function known as sine, cosine and tangent function respectively.

Interchanging the role of x and y, we get

F = {(x, y): x = sin y}, G = {(x, y): x = cos y} and H = {(x, y) : x = tan y}, these function are inverse circular function.

The inverse circular function x = sin y, x = cos y and x = tan y are generally written as y = sin-1 x, y = cos-1 x and y = tan-1 x.
